Wooscombe & the surrounding villages have some beautiful walks
Wooscombe Wood was planted in 1993 by Brian & Heather Maggs. This broadleaf woodland of some 40 hectares is one of the largest new woodlands in the Forest of Avon. The woodland is now well established and offers superb panoramic views of the Chew Valley and the NE Somerset countryside. The wood has a number of public footpaths across the site, these footpaths connect with a number of other footpaths leading to Woollard, Compton Dando and further afield. Making this a beautiful place to explore.
If your'e planning a walk the map below is here to help.
Map reference Solid red line = Public Footpath. Dash red line = Permissive Footpath. (CLOSED until further notice). Please note that due to ash dieback, new stock fencing work and felling works taking place within the woodland at the present time - All permissive paths are currently closed for safety reasons.
