StewardshipOur land at Wooscombe Fields is regeneratively farmed, with much of this in an agri environmental scheme. These schemes protect and enhance the natural environment, in particular to support the biodiversity and our most environmentally significant sites and woodlands.

OrchardsBurlands and Peppershells orchards are productive orchards bursting with life, useful for wildlife and for food.
These orchards, planted some 30 years ago, are historically, culturally and ecologically valuable habitats. Planted by my father, the apple cultivars range in colour, size and taste with varieties including Kingston Black and Falstaff. These craft ciders are produced from Burlands and Peppershells orchards by Wilding Cider. These are also available to purchase from our online store. |
Community ForestWooscombe Wood and Rushy Ground were created in 1993, as the largest Community Forest in Avon. These woodlands are the source of our timber and firewood. Not only do they produce some great timber, they also provide a home for our pigs and some of the amazing wildlife we're lucky enough to have here on the farm.

Our BreedsFollowing the resurgance of interest in Herdwicks, Wooscombe Fields continues to keep a small flock of Herdwick Sheep, raising them for their excellent meat and multi-purpose fleece, used in the production of our bespoke Wooscombe Tweed.
Alongside them are our badger face welsh mountain and Exmoor horn sheep all with their own purpose. each bringing something different to the land. |
Flora and Fauna
A range of flora and fauna exits at Wooscombe Fields. Managed in a sensitive manner, with regenerative farming practices, we aim to continue to attract and develop the diverse range of species found on the farm.
Species include: Buzzards, Red Kites, Bee Orchids, Pyramid Orchids just to name a few. |
